Secret disciple

Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
Mark 15:43

Joseph of Arimathea was a secret disciple of Jesus who became bold to ask Pilate for the body of Jesus in order to bury Jesus in his own tomb.

Council elders like Joseph  often had issues identifying publicly with Jesus but they believe in Jesus. Nicodemus also went to Jesus at night in order not to be seen aligning himself with Jesus. They did not want to risk losing their positions but now they proved their allegiance publicly.

Both Joseph and Nicodemus took on the burial of Jesus. Jesus was buried by prominent men in the society. This was significant to confirm that Jesus died and was buried.

You may have been afraid to identify with Christ but the time has come for you to boldly come before the throne of grace and identify publicly with Jesus.
