Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord , and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
2 Kings 22:1-2 KJV
It is absolutely amazing that an 8 year old could lead a nation and go on to serve for 31 years. How could he do this? He did not only lead but he did what was right in the sight of God. He had the right perspective even though many before him did evil in the sight of God. King Josiah followed in the footsteps of David. He read everything he could about David and he was able to learn David's style of leadership.
Josiah served well and God was pleased with him. God wants us all to serve others well because even Jesus did not come to be served but to serve. The fear of God can cause leaders to lead well. Though there may have been many bad leaders there are still good leaders who have the right value system.
You are called to lead in your sphere of influence. Leadership is influence and you can develop the skills to lead in different spheres of life- Social/Religion, Business, Entertainment, Sports, Politics and so on.
