Jealous

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exodus 20:5 KJV

In any relationship trust is essential and once there's an issue of distrust that relationship will soon come to an end. God is jealous too and longs to preserve the relationship we have with him. God is jealous when we leave him for things that do not add value to us.

In your relationship, do not get over protective as a result of jealousy instead build trust and loyalty. God does not get over protective even though he gets jealous. He sent us as sheep among wolves with hope that we will become wise as we follow his instructions.
