Slow to anger

And he prayed unto the Lord , and said, I pray thee, O Lord , was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Jonah 4:2 KJV

Jonah could testify about how gracious and merciful God is because he experienced God when he fled from God. God was slow to anger and showed him kindness. God should be angry with us for all the things he asked us to do that we ran away from but instead he is showing us mercy and Grace through Jesus. The blood of Jesus was shed for our forgiveness.

We are not perfect but God loves us and opens his arm to us. Love surely overcomes hate. God wants us to love him with all our heart and not by coercion. Parents show love to your children even though you have to discipline them. Do not be quick to get angry all the time. Jonah fled but God did not leave him until Jonah was ready. God is with us and we should run from him no more.
