Wisdom

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James 1:5 KJV

God gives wisdom and he gives it to all without doing background checks. Yes, some may be wondering why someone with questionable character can be so wise and Jesus also said be as wise as a serpent. God does not look for faults when giving wisdom to all those who ask him and so they are free to apply wisdom. Even the serpent is very wise even though it has evil tendencies almost all the time yet Jesus recognized its wisdom. Some have also wondered why so many people who are not seemingly religious are so wise and powerful. People like Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Ahab, Hitler and many modern day cabals also have wisdom.

God’s wisdom however is not for evil or power control over others. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. ( James 3:17) God’s wisdom is to liberate us from bondage to decay and open our eyes to things that were hidden to us even though they were all around us. Wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge, experience, understanding or common sense and insight. When God takes off the veil, you will shed tears of joy and wonder why it took so long for you to see what he has been trying to tell you all along. God brings us out of darkness into his marvellous light. God tells us to be wise in how we deal with all kinds of people and his instructions and principles for living remain evergreen. Wise men don’t run from God instead they run to God. God did not withdraw wisdom from Solomon because wisdom is given to all men and it does not matter what you have done but that does not mean there are no consequences for our actions.

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5: 15-16
