Faith is often required for God to heal both physically and spiritually. However, it is faith in God and not in ourselves as it is God who heals and not the faith. Faith is believing and being confident in God. Jesus could not perform many miracles in Tyre and Siddon because of their unbelief. Strong doubts in God's power to heal is an obstacle. There must be a connection between God and man. That connection is a relationship that grows to the point where there's total trust in God to heal.
God heals in situations where there is no faith but it is to draw such people into faith. God is gracious and merciful but he requires all men to have faith in him. It is the power of God that saves and not faith in itself. Faith is however required to receive total healing. One man prayed, "I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief."
