Isaiah 9:2
Walking in darkness is living outside God's word and commands. Darkness could mean ignorance, chaos, idolatry or calamity. Living in darkness is living in the shadow of death. When darkness was upon the deep, God created light.
The great light is Jesus who is the light of the world. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9
We are now in the light and we should let our light shine.
