Proverbs 9:8
A scorner is someone who expresses contempt by remarks or facial expression. That is someone who has no regard or respect for anyone or anything.
If you correct or rebuke such people they will hate you. So what do you do? Hate them in return? You have to show them by example. Show them respect when they disrespect you. This way you turn the tables by heaping burning coals on their heads. Why will they reconsider their ways? Because everyone likes to be respected.
A wise man easily accepts rebuke because he has understanding. He learns from every scenario because it saves him from many troubles. He doesn't wait to repeat the same mistake. These type of people are the ones that will tell you thank you and pray for you because they really appreciate your counsel.
