You've got to be productive with the word that you hear otherwise it's self-deceit. We are not saved to merely listen all our lives. We have to fulfill God's purpose. It is very easy to get into the listen-only trap. Do you know what God has called you to do? You have to discover your purpose and you don't have eternity to discover that.
Jesus sent out his disciples to the field to go and carry out all that they had learnt from him and they were so excited at the result of their field work. When you have listened to the word then go and do what it says. God has given us all different gifts to edify and build up the church. We are all vessels unto honour. It's not enough to know and to keep repeating what you know but to gain a better understanding by doing. A doer of God's work shall be blessed in his deeds.
