There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
Mark 7:15 KJV
As a man thinks in his heart so is he. There's nothing outside man that can defile man. One might think that man gets defiled by what enters into him. For a long time one will keep battling issues outside him but fail to resolve internal issues that if left unchecked will soon cause an implosion. There is a famous quote by Aristotle “I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies; for the hardest victory is over self.”
Jesus explained to the disciples when they asked him what he meant. Jesus was kind enough to explain that it is the evil thoughts of men that defile men. If you want to live as God created you then you must overcome self. Deny yourself. This does not mean the training will be easy but it will be worthwhile. Everyone will have to undergo discipline. Negativity is celebrated in the media everyday. You have to fight everyday to remain positive and to trust God that everything good will come. Watch what comes out of you. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7:21-23 KJV
