What's your doctrine?

And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

John 7:15‭-‬17 KJV

The Jews were surprised that Jesus could speak and teach so powerfully about the kingdom of God. They were of the opinion that Jesus was not learned probably because he did not attend their seminary or bible college. So how did Jesus know the letters? Jesus knew the Scriptures through personal study and a close relationship with the Father who sent him. Jesus quoted Scriptures written by the prophets. He did not create his own doctrine in order to impress the people. Jesus taught them what God revealed to him and anyone who knows God can know where this teaching came from.

Jesus teaches that we can discern doctrines by doing God's will. If any man will do God's will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it is from God or of self. We should not get carried away by doctrines that promises so much but only aims to glorify the speaker. We do not need a new teaching beyond what Jesus has taught and done. Practice that Jesus has taught you and you will discern where the doctrines come from. Jesus teaches everyone to have personal faith in God. The results you get with doing God's will is enough to prove to you that false doctrines do not work and are a complete waste of time.
