And David said to Solomon his son,
Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the
Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake
thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the
Lord.
1 Chronicles 28:20 KJV
David inspired and encouraged
Solomon so that he could accomplish the mission of building the temple. David
wanted to build the temple himself but God did not allow and so he had to hand
over the responsibility over to Solomon. It was a great responsibility for
Solomon as he had to be strong and courageous.
Building anything takes a lot of
courage, patience, persistence, faith and prayers. You cannot afford to be
afraid or weak but you have to know that God is with you. When you take a
decision that is not popular because God asked you to do it, you may be afraid
because the people may not fully understand but you have to be courageous. God
will not fail you until you have finished all the work for the service of the
house of the Lord.
