This is warning for everyone to stay away from wrong doctrines. How do identify the wrong doctrines. Start by checking whatever you hear against the Scripture. The fables and endless genealogists are usually mixed up to confuse most who are not conversant with Scripture and interpretation. Most people believe fables not because they don't know it is fable but because they are deceived by the personality of the person.
The stories they tell to confuse the undiscerning minds actually create more questions. You are often distracted in your search for answers such that before you get answer, more stories are told based on previous stories. The more you stay in such environment the more you believe, accept and run with the stories and not the truth. At the end of it all, there's no edification which is by faith.
The just shall live by Faith.
